What matters most in life as a Muslim
Assalamualikum warrahmatullahi wabarkatuh
As we all pass through life looking at people and materialistic things around us, we often to look at people above us and wants to be like them. Desire to have this and that.
For instance, I want that hijabs, I want to have that big house, I want that career, I want that dress, I want that bags and many more things. Many things you want to emulate your idols.
Oh dear me, this is a reminder to myself first and foremost. All those did not matter. But this is what it has become in our life now, in our time.
Does it really matter?
Does it really matter what others think of you? You will say that, what other thinks of me is none of their business. So, it doesn't matter right? Because they don't have to follow us. They don't live your life. We will stop caring of what others think of us. But sometimes we feel like we want to be like them. To be like your idols.
Oh dear me, what they perceive about you does not matter. You don't have to be like one of them. It doesn't matter if you can't afford to have this and that, it doesn't matter if you don't have that big house, those killer heels, can't afford to eat at expensive restaurants etc. What matters most in life is.....A GOOD END.
It is your decision or actions now whether you want to have a good end or bad end. For our ability to say syahadah or La illa ha illallah at our last breath what matters most. Now, let's check our relationship with Allah's first. Let's make doa now to improve our imaan with Allah and may Allah grant us a good end. Le's focus on this.
As recorded in Buhari and Muslim: The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever Allah wants good for him, he puts them to test. He puts them through difficulties. Like a diamond or some metal that has to be burnt and then that which is bad from it is removed so that you have that which is the pure diamond or the pure gold or whatever. Put them to tests, trials and difficulties."
This world is indeed run by Allah.
