How finally I became a MUSLIM BRIDE

Assalamualikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh

2016 has been a full of surprising year for me. I finally got married in November 2016 in my forties. Remember how these many years I have been 'berkhayal tentang dirinya', talking about him in my prayers, wonder how he looked like and how I seek guidance from Allah.

I thanked Allah for granting me a husband, sent him to me directly where I would love him beyond reasons.

Now, I would like to share what are the things that I did before accepting his proposal. What are the things that I perform in order to have my doa answered. ALLAH answered all of their supplications, and he didn’t disregard any of his slaves. What is the secret? :)

Here are the truth revealed dearest sisters!

1) Istikharah

As you know the istikhara is the prayer to seek guidance or goodness from Allah. Istikhara can be performed every day and even in the daytime. I know some people who do Istikhara with most of their prayers. Except for after Fajr and Asr when sujood (sajda) is forbidden. Also Istikhara can be performed for life’s small decisions, big decisions and even for general guidance in your life. Allah has made our lives easy. Alhamdulilah.

Following your Istikhara – The Real Test :

Now this is the real test of our faith and imaan in Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala). Some people have a good sign or feeling and go against it. Others see a bad sign e.g a marriage proposal and still go ahead with the marriage. You have ‘sought the good’ from Allah and He, in His infinite mercy and knowledge has pointed out the way. Therefore, to go against this would be to your misfortune. This is where we can see the wisdom and hikmah of the Holy Quran:

“And it is very possible that you dislike something whereas it is good for you; and (similarly) it is very possible that you like something whereas it is bad for you”. (Baqarah 16)

The Importance Of Istikhara

We have been instructed by the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam to perform the Istikhara prayer whenever we make decisions in our life, especially when we make some major decisions in life. Therefore, we should always make an effort to perform this prayer of Istikhara, whether we see it as a way in receiving guidance or whether we perform it as a supplication dua.

Even the most talented, highly educated and most resourceful people in the entire world cannot solve this problems nor make any such promises to anyone but only Allah.

Remember, the spouse that you should desire would be a religious and pious spouse which would lead you closer to Allah. Be careful not to be deceived by looks or money – because these qualities will not last, whereas the love provided through piety will continue to grow.

2) Doa of Nabi Musa

What am I going to share with you about this doa is it changes your life! Even the most talented, highly educated and most resourceful people can not solve our problems; nor make any such promises to anyone. However, a doa can.

There are hundreds and thousands of "match-makers" try and link people together. But the beauty of the Quran is in its simplicity.

All you have to do on a daily basis is start reciting this verse from the Holy Quran:

رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ إِلَىَّ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ۬ فَقِيرٌ

Rabbi inni lemaa anzalta elayya min khairin faqeer (Chapter 28, verse 24)

I always zikir this doa after I performed Asar 11x and also one of my friend share to me that
you should increase this zikir especially after perform Maghrib prayers.

3) Helping someone who is in need

Believers, Allah helps those who helped others.

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, ” Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.
 (Recorded in Muslim)

“Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.”

So help our brothers and sisters, Allah will help us in return.

Hence we should help each other to do good and avoid helping others in acts that would displease Allah.

4) Give the best that you have

The more we give sadaqah the more we increase our eeman and thus, expect Allah’s rewards both in this world and in the life hereafter. Giving charity out of our wealth does not decrease our wealth but instead Allah (s.w.t.) increases it.

Ways to give sadaqah:

"Berilah barang yang paling kamu sayang"

It means - If you give, give something that you loved most eg your favourite perfume, abayas, watch etc etc. We are told to give in charity out of the best that we have, and the things that we love the most.

We are told to give in charity out of the best that we have, and the things that we love the most :

By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth Allah knoweth it well.

Al-Imran 3 : 92.

And :

O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad, in order that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is free of all wants, and worthy of all praise.
Al-Baqara 2 : 267.

So dear sisters, I hope this could help and may Allah make it easy for you.

Sincerely

Learning endlessly Muslimah
